The Independent Achievers Academy is a business development programme for independent news and convenience retailers in the UK, and is open to both affiliated and non-affiliated stores.
The IAA programme runs from April to November every year. The first stage of the 2010 programme began with the launch event (see Press page) on 22nd April. At the event, this years Guide to Better Sales & Profits, which provides over 55,000 UK retailers with top class business advice across 12 Academy best practice principles, was also launched.
Each year, hundreds of retailers take the Academy challenge by entering their store for the chance to receive a professional in-store assessment. Following the store visits, the Academy’s highest achievers are recognised in the IAA UK Top 100 Independent Retailer list. Category winners and the winner of the Overall Best Shop award are announced at a Gala Dinner in November.
